December '06 - Sarah Bray | |
Sarah Bray is a senior at Connelly School of the Holy Child in Potomac, MD and a leading midfield player for their varsity lacrosse squad. She has helped lead Holy Child to the ISL AA division lacrosse finals each of the past two years. Sarah is also a team captain for the Ultimate PlayHer club team, a program she has been with for four years. In May, Sarah was awarded a spot in the US Lacrosse National Tournament on the Mid-Atlantic Team. At Holy Child, Sarah has also been a member of the varsity soccer and indoor track teams. For the past three years, Sarah has served as a writer and sports editor for Holy Child's Willow, the school newspaper, and is Treasurer of the Democratic Club. Outside of school, Sarah has been involved in community service for The Circle of Hope as a Therapeutic Riding assistant, and enjoys movies with her friends and snowboarding. Sarah was recently named a 2006 US Lacrosse High School Academic All-American and is currently on a 4-year academic scholarship at Holy Child. Sarah will continue her lacrosse pursuits at the collegiate level and plans to major in biological sciences. | |
November '06 - Kristen Coleman | |
Kristen Coleman, age 17, is a 5'11" senior at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, Md. She is a four year varsity player and was a captain for the school's lacrosse team this past season. She plays attack and mid-field and also takes face-offs. Last season she led the team with 57 goals and 24 assists and was chosen team MVP. She was selected first team WCAC all conference and was chosen by the Montgomery Gazette and Washington Examiner for second team honors. She has played lacrosse for Ultimate PlayHer Sports for three years and is currently a team captain. She was also a three-year varsity soccer player and team captain at Holy Cross. She is currently running cross country for the school. Her favorite show is Project Runway, and she enjoys reading, traveling and being with friends. She has been working with autistic children for several years and is involved in various community service projects. She is active in breast cancer awareness and was instrumental in starting a program at Holy Cross. She is interested in possibly majoring in education/psychology and would like to continue to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. |
